PYO and Farm Market Update 5/3/19

Posted 5/3/2019 2:39pm by Sam Bellamy.

May is here with several exciting changes! The PYO strawberries are beautiful, the summer crops are growing, and we have some new produce at our markets as we're getting into some new fields!

PYO Berries:

We're excited to say that the Pick-Your-Own Strawberry Field will be OPEN for picking tomorrow morning, May 4th, 2019! This will only be during the morning from 9:00 - 12:00. We provide buckets for you to pick in, but ask that you bring containers to take them home with. Cash is preferred for a faster checkout.

Farm Market:

A special new item, available in our Farm Market ONLY, is locally raised beef from WK Price Farms! This USDA Inspected, Grass Fed, and No Added Hormones or Antibiotics meat is beef at it's best!

We have been cutting lettuce from a new field this week and still can't get over how tender it is! This planting is full of different varieties, in every lettuce shape and color you can imagine.

Coming from a planing in our back field, we now have our kale, cabbage, and broccoli available at both of our Farmer's Markets locations at the beach as well as in our Farm Market!

Coming Up:

The zucchini planting is a mixture of enormous golden blossoms and tiny green zucchini. We're looking forward to these getting big enough to pick.

The potatoes we planted have grown nice green, leafy tops that promise a beautiful harvest later this summer.

The blackberry bushes that survived the hurricanes and floods have lovely blossoms as they prepare for a delicious harvest.
