January Update 1/31/19

As we wrap up January and move closer to Spring we're excited by some of the changes that have taken place this month! Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for frequent photo updates.

In the Field: We completed our first large high tunnel and have almost finished the second one. The first is already planted with the little spinach, chard, and beets from the greenhouse and alongside them we've direct seeded carrots and arugula. In our DIY field tunnel the radishes and cool season greens are just getting ready for harvest! 

In the Greenhouse: in anticipation of warmer weather, snow peas are growing in trays, getting a head start on Spring. We have more lettuce, broccoli, cabbage, and collards just coming up. Waiting on a warmer day, the kale is ready to go into the field where it can do some serious growing! 

The ICI: We're at The International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach at Market Common on Thursdays from 1:00 - 6:00. The selection of produce varies from week to week, depending on how things are growing. As the crops in the tunnels continue to mature and the lettuce and onions in the field get larger we'll have more and more to bring! We also have expanded our selection of All Natural, Non-GMO grits, cornmeal, and Carolina Gold rice from Geechie Boy Mill in SC. 

Our Farm Market: During these shorter, colder days in the beginning of the year most of the crops grow very slowly. Due to this, we have closed the market for the month of January and most of February. We will RE-OPEN as the days get longer and warmer and many of the plants reach a growth stage that allows us to harvest.

Spring is here! Bringing fresh Strawberries, tender greens, and delicious veggies. 

Our Farm Market will RE-OPEN on April 16th! During April we'll be open on Tue, Thus, and Sat from 9-4. Starting in May we'll have our regular schedule. 

On April 10th the Myrtle Beach Farmers Market OPENS for the season! Come see us on Wed, Fri, and Sat from 9-3 every week.
