Saturday PYO srawberries April 6

Posted 4/6/2018 7:50pm by Sam Bellamy.
The strawberry field will not be able to be open this Saturday. There are too few berries in the field but we will have some pre-picked berries. After trying to save some rows for Saturday it became evident that there were too few berries to have both PYO and pre-picked. The plants needed cleaning so the guys picked what was left as they cleaned the plants.
The cool nights have a very definite effect on the ripening of the berries. The low temperatures have slowed the berries from getting ripe as quickly.
Sarah or Deb will be at the market parking lot selling pre-picked berries until they are gone.
The field should be open next week possibly Monday or Tuesday.
